Identification of Deposited Oil Structures on Thin Porous Oil Mist Filter Media Applying µ-CT Imaging Technique

The identification of microscale oil structures formed from deposited droplets on the filter front face a coalescence medium is essential to understand initial state filtration process. Using µ-CT imaging and deep learning tool for segmentation, this work presents novel approach visualize identify as fibers or sails between adjacent different sizes, shapes orientations. Furthermore, local global porosity, saturation fiber ratios material oleophilic was compared evaluated. Especially porosity showed great accordance.
